THE FOOD COURT: Chinese Immigrant Restaurant Stories in Toronto and St. Louis is my thesis project for my MFA degree in Washington University in St. Louis.

This book is a collection of interviews with five Chinese immigrant restaurants from Toronto and St. Louis. Toronto and St. Louis are the geographic focus because of the time I spent in both undergraduate and graduate studies in these two cities. They are both my second homes. Through food culture, people can understand the wisdom and creativity of immigrant communities. Their courage to impact multiple generations, create connections, and contribute to local culture through the cuisine from their motherland is inspiring.
